EVANGELISTIC ASSOCIATION AWARDED $1 MILLION GRANT:
Grant to be
used in development of Billy Graham Library

Charlotte, N.C., September 12, 2006 - The Billy Graham
Evangelistic Association (BGEA) announced today that it has
received a $1 million grant from the Longwood, FL based Chatlos
Foundation. The grant will be used to help fund the construction
and operation of the Billy Graham Library.
"This gift from The
Chatlos Foundation will help us spread the Gospel for years to
come," said BGEA Executive Vice President Preston Parrish. "The
Billy Graham Library will be an ongoing crusade that will expose
visitors to the truth of Jesus Christ at every turn. The Chatlos
Foundation recognizes the importance and urgency of
telling as many people as possible the Good News of Christ. We
deeply value their partnership over the years and their
participation now in this one-of-a-kind outreach."
Opening in Spring 2007,
the Billy Graham Library will invite visitors to learn more
about Jesus Christ as they walk through thepast 60 years of
Billy Graham's worldwide ministry. The 40,000 square foot
library will include audio and visual exhibits, historic
memorabilia, a bookstore, and a dining area. Visitors may also
tour a replica of the boyhood home of Billy Graham, which
features many parts of the original home that sat just a few
miles from the new BGEA headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. Research
predicts over 200,000 visitors will tour the library annually.
Chatlos Foundation:
Since The Chatlos Foundation began in 1953, it has awarded over
$95 million in grants to more than 5,700 non-profit
organizations. The Chatlos Foundation proclaims the Glory of God
by funding nonprofit organizations in the USA and around the
globe. Support is provided by organizations currently exempt by
the Internal Revenue Service of the United States. The
Foundation's areas of interest are: Bible Colleges/Seminaries,
Religious Causes, Medical Concerns, Liberal Arts Colleges and
Social Concerns.
BGEA: BGEA exists to
support and extend the evangelistic calling and ministries of
Billy Graham and Franklin Graham by proclaiming the Gospel of
the Lord Jesus Christ to all we can by every effective means
available to us and by equipping others to do the same.
